Backwater Farms Retreat – Ridgeland, MS

This owner was the first one of our friends to commit to building in our development, Backwater Farms. We carved them off a 4-acre wooded lot on the back lake and they began working with John Weaver on the design. The French Colonial architecture is prevalent in the hipped roof, large 10’ front porch with over-sized columns, open rafter tails, and antique brick walls and floors. The back of the house faces the lake and has a more relaxed feel with antique pine post and beams.
The interiors are immediately authentic feeling from both the classic architecture and beautiful antiques collected by the home owners and their parents over the years. Rich materials of antique pine, brick, beams, and cypress weave throughout the interiors. The kitchen cabinets and design are classic in construction but very modern and functional. The placement of the house create viewing points throughout of the woods and lake, giving it a tranquil setting that welcomes you home.
